Lablachère is a village which is located on the low side of the
Cévennes range slope , just
in the center of the South Ardèche. It has the main amenities you may
require.
For exemple :
- a
Netto (superstore), two good bakeries, a butcher , a grocery (20' by
foot)
- at
few kilometers a Carrefour Market and a
Intermarché (supermarket)
- a
physician and a pharmacy in the village
Sited in between the gorges of Baume Drobie, Chassezac and
Ardèche,
you will have choice of plenty spots where to swim or your nautical
canoeing bases. The nearest one, Castejau is just at 6 km for a canoe
descent of the river, between famous high cliffs where, in addition, you have one of the best spots for escalade and alpinism.
Vallon is at just 22 km and Chauzon at
20 km.
The
calcareous region which is called "les Gras" spreads between the
range of Cévennes and the Rhône river. It offers a lot of natural
attractions : the very famous" bois de Païolive" ( a stone forest), the
cave of "L'aven Orgnac" (35 km), the cave of "la Cocalière", and the
place where there are the most
dolmens in Europe (Saint Alban)
Lablachère is located at the bottom of the Ardèche plateau
(Montselgues, Thines), between the" Tanargue mountain" in north (1400m)
the "Serre de
Barre mountain" in south (1000m) and mount Lozère in west
(1650m) displaying a wide range of walking tracks.
In south Ardèche you will also find a lot of old typical villages built
with local stones
:
- Payzac
at 8km
- Les
Vans et Naves at 10 km
- La
Beaume at 16 km
- Balazuc,
Vinezac,
Vogüe at about 20 km.
These
villages have their traditional market place. You will find a market
every day of the week to buy food ( excellent fruits and vegetables )
or local handicraft. At Lablachère the market takes place on Sunday
morning.
Out of rivers, mountains, old spots, and huge wide natural landscapes,
you will be able to practice tennis, horseriding, and swimming in an
aquacenter etc.., and ask your hosts to supply the doc. They will help to make your holidays in Ardèche the best you ever had.
